About Faith & Gospel

Daily Scripture and devotionals, freely shared.

Faith & Gospel is a small independent devotional publication. We publish a new devotional every day, along with curated collections of Bible verses gathered by what people are actually walking through — anxiety, hope, strength, faith, love, and peace.

What we believe about this work

There is a lot of noise online. Our aim is simple: put Scripture in front of you plainly, with a short, honest reflection that helps it land — and then get out of the way. No paywall, no sign-up required, no tricks. If a verse here meets you on a hard day, that is the whole point.

Why the King James Version

Every Scripture quotation on this site is from the King James Version (KJV). We chose the KJV deliberately: it is in the public domain, which means we can quote it in full, freely and without restriction, and you can share it onward the same way. Modern translations like the NIV and ESV are copyrighted and limit how much can be reproduced. The KJV lets us give you the whole verse, every time.

Who writes this

Faith & Gospel is written and published by Rowan Eli, one person rather than a large ministry or an editorial board. Rowan Eli is a pen name. I am not a pastor, theologian, or counsellor, and I do not present myself as any of those, and nothing here should be read as professional or pastoral advice.

What I do is straightforward: I check every Scripture quotation on this site against the KJV text before it is published, and I try to write plainly and with care. Where I reflect on a passage, I am reflecting, not teaching doctrine. You can also find me on TikTok and Facebook.

If you ever find a verse misquoted or a reference wrong on this site, please tell me and I will fix it. You can reach me through the contact form.

An important note

Some of what we write touches on anxiety, grief, and despair. Scripture is a genuine comfort, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If you are struggling with your mental health, please reach out to a doctor or counsellor. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away — in Canada and the US you can call or text 988. Please do not wait.
